MY STORY
On September 2, 2022 our world was shattered when we lost our son, Daniel at the age of 22 years, 2 months, and 22 days.  He had so much living left to do.  Life is very cruel and unfair when a kind, thoughtful, loving person is taken from this world that needs kindness and thoughtfulness and love more than ever.
In the days, weeks, and months following this loss as I struggled to figure out how to continue to move forward when all I wanted to do was go back, go back and stop this awful thing from happening, many friends suggested I try Stephy's Place.  My initial reaction was that I could not sit and listen to others talk about their loss,  how could that possibly help me?
One year after our loss I decided to give Stephy's Place a try.  It's a group you do not want to be a part of, yet it's group you are grateful for as it's a safe place where you know you can say exactly how you feel and know you are understood. The grief of losing a loved one is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life, but by sharing that grief with others who share the same grief, you learn how to continue to live and not just exist.

I will be participating in the A Mourning Walk. Money raised from this event will be used to provide free peer support groups for those suffering the loss of a loved one.  If you would like to make a donation, please click on the link.  If you know someone struggling with the loss of a loved one, please feel free to share the information about this amazing organization with them.
