We are so excited to be participating in the A Mourning Walk in honor of our son and baby brother Ethan Jude Mendoza. Money raised from this event will be used to provide free peer support groups for those suffering the loss of a loved one.

 

Why are we named “3 for E”? Well 3 was Ethan's number. He was diagnosed with 3 Congenital Heart Defects, born on the 3rd of December, had his surgery on the 3rd day of life, was intubated 3 times, and recovered at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pod 3 Bed 3. We're sure there are many more instances where "3" came into play but these are just a few.

 

Ethan ran ahead to Heaven on February 21, 2020. To honor him and the battle he fought, we host all of our fundraising efforts under the name “3 for E”.

 

After Ethan passed, Dan found Stephy's Place and their Infant Loss Support Group. After a lot of hesitation, Kalagh finally joined in the group session and she is glad she did. We have found so much love and support within our group and we have become more than just parents who have lost children, we have become a family. We have taken our chats from Zoom calls to group texts and Tuesday Crew Family BBQs where our surviving children get to meet and connect. We rely on each other for support in good times and bad.
