When we got THE call that night, everything went black.

How? What? Why?!!!

 

In that moment, life as we knew it ended. We were thrown into a world we never knew existed—a world no parent should have to know! Losing our Max shattered everything. Grief this deep is hard to describe. It changes how we breathe, move, speak… live.

 

That’s why Stephy’s Place has meant so much to us. It’s one of the spaces where we don’t have to explain or hide our grief. We don’t feel like anyone’s trying to fix us or “bright side” us. They walk this path beside us, helping us slowly integrate our grief into this new reality. We’re met with compassion, understanding, and the quiet presence of others who get it. We cry, we laugh and we talk about everything while being supported by incredible facilitators. 

 

On September 7th, we’ll walk in honor of Max during “A Mourning Walk.” We’d be honored if you joined Team King Max #19, or supported this healing place that’s helped us survive in the new life we never asked for.
