Grief changes the way you look at every aspect of life.  Grief can be isolating, even though it is one of the only universal experiences we all will share at one point in time.  The grief that came with the sudden loss of my husband of just one year, Pad, at 35 years old, was astronomical. I knew that I would need others to lean on to help find a way through this new life.

 

I found Stephy's Place shortly after Pad died and throughout this past year they have helped me to navigate a world without my husband.  The young widow's group has not only helped me to realize I'm not alone in this, but they have also become like a family, bonded by different losses but shared feelings.  It is the club no one wanted to be in, but we're glad that we found it and each other.

Stephy's Place groups are completely volunteer run.  This is an amazing way to support selfless volunteers, to recognize mental health and those suffering from loss, and of course, to honor and remember Pad.
