Hello friends! On October 5, I’m participating in the iANDA! 5K to support HAVEN Free Clinic—a student-run primary care clinic that provides free care to 500+ patients in the New Haven area, who are underprivileged and have high need for health. Why is HAVEN so near and dear to me? As you may know, I'm on my 4th year of medical school... I've taken my major board exams, and
show full storywill spend the next year becoming a better researcher and clinician before moving on to residency. HAVEN has been a focus for this year: I volunteer 20+ hours each week as one of the clinic’s primary managers of 60+ medical student volunteers and hundreds of undergraduates. In the coming year, I’ll serve as one of four Clinical Directors, guiding student clinicians, following up on urgent lab results, and making sure no patient falls through the cracks. Our services are free, but medical supplies aren’t. Keeping HAVEN free depends on donors and events like this race. All proceeds from this event will support the HAVEN Free Clinic. I’d be grateful for your support in sponsoring me: - Donate on my personal fundraising page - Or reach out to me directly (305-877-6024) if you prefer to contribute another way Any amount—big or small—makes a real difference. For more information about HAVEN Free Clinic, visit the clinic’s website. Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Hoping that you are well, Matt
