MY STORY
I have been a Big Sister for 6 years and have been matched with my current Little, Selah, for 3 years. This past May, I was awarded “Big of the Year” at the annual meeting, which was an outstanding achievement for us both. In addition, I have served on the JBBBSA Advisory Board for 5 years, and this year I am serving as the Bowl for Kids Sake event Chair.
 
Selah and I were matched during Covid, and even though we spent our initial outings outside with masks on or playing games together virtually, we developed a close relationship and always managed to have fun together. Some of our favorite outings include playing board games (Selah usually wins), climbing the Emergent Tower at Holden Arboretum, holding butterflies at the Botanical Gardens, and attending Disney on Ice. Selah and I also have birthdays a few days apart – it is always special when we get to celebrate together!
 
Serving as a mentor has been an invaluable experience for me. Please consider donating to this incredible cause – the funds we raise are vital to our ability to provide all services free of charge to matches and their families.
