MY STORY
SAVE OUR STRAYS, SAVE OUR SURRENDERS, SAVE OUR SICK, SAVE OUR SHELTER... YOU ARE NEEDED SO MUCH!

Hi friends! We hope you and your family are doing well. We are staying busy and are currently fostering two litters of kittens, and a mama cat, so that they may find forever homes soon.
Last year was full of ups, downs, and uncertainty for the shelter (and all of us). There was a wave of adoptions - which was wonderful! - as people were home more than usual, but as offices reopen and schedules somewhat return to normal, we’re seeing a wave of surrenders and returns.
For example, a 5 year old German Shepherd mix named Patton recently came into the shelter with kennel cough, turning into pneumonia, and a week long hospital stay. With his vet bill already almost $2500, the shelter used donated funds to buy a nebulizer: now we can administer treatments to him (2x daily for the foreseeable future) and other sick pets. We're grateful to say Patton fully recovered and is available for adoption! (ID#A061522 if you’d like to check him out on the website.)
Some animals are still waiting for their happy ending though, like Sophie. She has a huge bladder stone and mammary tumor -- the vet estimates her extensive surgery and treatment will cost almost $8000. Unfortunately, those kinds of funds simply aren't available for her yet :( but you can change that!
We encourage you to please donate today. Every dollar goes directly to where it's needed most urgently, especially those awaiting funding like Sophie. We continue to operate under a “no kill” philosophy that aims to save every adoptable shelter pet. This means we do NOT euthanize animals that come into the shelter and we transfer in animals from overcrowded high kill shelters. Last month alone we transferred in 40 animals that would otherwise have been euthanized. We thank you for your support.
It will save lives.
Ever so grateful for your help,
Karen, Sophia, and Giavanna, Proud Lead Volunteers :)
