Hi! My name is Allix and I am 14 years old. I have been participating in this event since I was only 2 months old, and since this event is very close to my heart, I thought I would share my story with you! My Daddy had 2 different benign brain tumors removed before I was even born, and when I was 6 weeks old, my Daddy was told he had brain cancer. When I was only 7 1/2 months old, he sadly passed away from it.
I never got to really meet him, but I've been told throughout my life that I am like him. He was kind and funny, brave and friendly. He was everything that was good mixed up into one soul and placed inside his body, and he was truly special. Every day I wonder what he was like, and I know that nothing people have told me will ever match up to the true story of my Daddy, Jose Andrade Jr.
This event means a lot to me, not only because of my loss, but because of all those around the world who have lost people they love due to brain cancer. I dream of a future without brain cancer. If you would like to help create this future, please join my team or make a donation. Every dollar is going towards a world where someday there will be a cure for brain cancer, or at least safer and more effective treatments, that way no other families will have to go through the pain and grief that we have gone through, and continue to go through.
Thank you so much for reading.
Take care.
