Nothing makes me more emotional than thinking about how far I have come despite challenges I've had from being a brain tumor survivor. Brain tumors affect men, women, children, the young, the athletic, the silly, the sweet, and the fighters, any background, and any age.

 

I was five when a doctor identified the root of my headaches. My parents were extremely patient and trusting in God and medicine that everything would be all right, and it was. Unlike many adolescents with brain tumors, I had successful brain surgeries and I will always be thankful for that. While I suffer from bad hand eye coordination, have terrible balance and may not be able to retain as much information as I wish I could, I am luckier than most survivors. I hope that you choose to join me the morning of November 13th along with all the survivors, all of those that gained their wings, and all of the loved ones that have endured the same pain.
