MY STORY
In April 2024, our family faced the unimaginable heartbreak of losing our beloved son, Liam, to suicide. For over a decade, Liam battled with depression, a struggle that was often invisible to the outside world but deeply affected his daily life and our entire family. Despite our efforts to support him, the weight of his mental health challenges became too much for him to bear. In the wake of this devastating loss, we have committed ourselves to raising awareness and funds to help others who are struggling as Liam did.

That is why we are participating in the “Let’s Walk Let’s Talk: Stepping Together to Prevent Suicide” walk, organized by the Long Island Crisis Center. This event is not just a walk; it’s a powerful movement to prevent suicide, offer support to those in crisis, and bring hope to individuals and families affected by mental illness.

By walking in this event, we hope to honor Liam's memory and contribute to a cause that is very close to our hearts. The funds raised will go directly to the Long Island Crisis Center, an organization dedicated to providing immediate support to those in need, offering counseling, crisis intervention, and other life-saving resources. Our participation in this walk is also a way for us to open up a dialogue about mental health. We want to encourage others to speak openly about their struggles and seek help before it's too late.

Suicide is preventable, and by coming together as a community, we can make a difference. We invite you to support our efforts by donating to our fundraising campaign, joining us on the walk, or simply spreading the word about the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Together, we can create a future where fewer families have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to suicide. Thank you for standing with us in memory of Liam and for supporting the vital work of the Long Island Crisis Center.
Share with your family and friends.
