I am so excited to be participating in Let's Walk, Let's Talk ... Stepping Together to Prevent Suicide for the first time this year. Taking a role in helping to plan the event has been so exciting and meaningful!
One example of suicide prevention that this walk benefits is through LICC's Community Education program in which I and my colleagues perform mental health workshops in schools K-12, colleges, libraries, senior centers, and organizations! We teach the LI community about cyberbullying, crisis intervention, coping skills, suicide prevention, and more, and we couldn't do it without the amazing support The Walk receives!
Proceeds from this event will be used to raise awareness of suicide prevention in our community.
