I am so excited to be walking in the 10th Annual Sojourner Truth Walk: Growing Food Justice and Honoring Those Who Feed Us! Money raised for this walk will support Camp Sojourner, a nonprofit leadership program for Philadelphia girls/youth ages 8-18, which offers year-round leadership development including mentoring, service projects, creative arts, nature hikes, college tours, and a one-week overnight camp (girlsleadershipcamp.org).
Camp Sojourner, Girls’ Leadership Camp helps Philadelphia girls/youth, regardless of their economic background, have the opportunity to take charge of their own lives and be agents of positive change in their communities. All programs are offered on a sliding scale, with significant scholarships.
Please consider joining me for this event and walking in the streets of West Philadelphia to celebrate girls/youth leaders. Or sponsor me, and help support Philly girls/youth!
Funds raised through the Sojourner Truth Walk will be used to provide scholarships for girls/youth to go to camp, and to help fund our free year-round creative arts, food justice, and leadership activities.
