I am so excited to be walking in the 7th Annual Sojourner Truth Walk: Celebrating Girls' & Women’s Leadership! Money raised for this walk will support Camp Sojourner, a nonprofit leadership program for Philadelphia girls ages 8-18, which offers year-round leadership development including mentoring, service projects, creative arts, nature hikes, college tours, and a one-week overnight camp (girlsleadershipcamp.org).
Camp Sojourner, Girls’ Leadership Camp helps Philadelphia girls, regardless of their economic background, have the opportunity to take charge of their own lives and be agents of positive change in their communities. All programs are offered on a sliding scale, with significant scholarships.
Please consider joining me for this event and walking in the streets of West Philadelphia to celebrate girls and women leaders. Or sponsor me, and help support Philly girls!
Funds raised through the Sojourner Truth Walk will be used to provide scholarships for girls/youth to go to camp, and to help fund our free year-round creative arts, food justice, and leadership activities.
