Team Shari Sue is in honor of Shari (also known as Sue) Casanova. She was diagnosed with a very rare tumor (Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma or PCNS Lymphoma) in October 2011 after having hardly any symptoms other than being extremely tired all the time for a few weeks prior to landing in the ER immediately after she started slurring her words.
The large tumor was in the very center of her brain so surgery was not an option. She went through 7 difficult rounds of in-patient chemo, but she kept her sense of humor and positive attitude through all of it!
When not spending her time with her 2 granddaughters and other family members, Sue volunteers on the MN Brain Tumor 5K planning team as an advisor. She loves to keep busy and have fun!
