To date, I've survived a lot - I was initially diagnosed with a Grade 4 Astrocytoma in January 2023; within the week I had a craniotomy to remove the majority of the tumor. I followed that with 30 rounds of radiation combined with 40 low doses of oral chemotherapy, and the Optune clinical device trial (which I dropped from, as it was more trouble than it was worth for me). I then followed show full storythat up with another year of high dose chemo and completed treatment in March of 2024. Things were looking stable and consistent from June to October in terms of my MRIs, but unfortunately between October and December my cancer progressed. Surgery would have left me with deficits and re-irradiation didn't feel like a great route, so we decided to try a new form of chemotherapy and immunotherapy to help reduce swelling. My new treatment plan will have me done with active treatment sometime later this summer/early fall. I am so grateful for the support of my husband, our family, friends, neighbors and co-workers throughout my treatment.
