TEAM STORY
We are Monique's family and friends. Monique recently became an angel on May 7, 2019, after a long battle fighting with the complications from her brain tumor.
She was incredibly strong and brave, finding hope and joy, despite all the struggles she faced for so long. Her children and her grandchildren have been her sources of joy and the reason she fought so hard.
She had an infectious laugh, the most welcoming smile and she befriended so many. She was a nurse and while in nursing school, traveled to Guatemala to help build medical clinics, falling in love with the people. Monique liked to help others and sought out opportunities to help as much as she was able to, there and throughout her life.
She was an excellent cook and experimented with all sorts of recipes, finding adaptive tools to work around her deficits. She loved to garden and adapted with raised garden beds and tools so she could work from her wheelchair. She was in several luncheon groups and book clubs and she loved to go to movies.
She loved the canyons, going for cookouts and watching the leaves change.
We are so lucky to have had you in our lives for as long as we did, our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. You are our hero.
