MY STORY
This year, as we gather for the 15th Annual MN Brain Tumor 5k, I am proud to celebrate a significant milestone in my journey - 10 years of being free from a brain tumor.

It was on May 2, 2014, that I was diagnosed with a sub-ependymoma brain tumor, and thanks to the skilled hands of Dr. Mendez and his team, the tumor was successfully removed on May 6th, which also happened to be the day I discovered I was pregnant with my now 9-year-old son. My journey has been one of resilience and determination, and I have made it my mission to spread hope and awareness through my speeches and writings, including my book 'How I Survived a Brain Tumor?' available on Amazon.

This cause is deeply personal to me, and I am thrilled to be participating in the 5k for the 6th time. As we come together to support this important cause, I am reminded of the staggering statistics - nearly 700,000 people in the United States are currently living with a primary brain tumor, and over 69,000 more will be diagnosed this year.

These tumors can have a devastating impact on quality of life and change everything for patients and their loved ones. That's why it's crucial to support research and find ways to prevent brain tumors. I kindly ask that you sponsor me today and help make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.
