2. What are the Race Options and Schedules?
There is one option for the race Run/Walk 5K :
Start time is 8:00 am sharp
Registration is 7:00 am 3. What Does Pledging to the Run Mean, Exactly?
By committing to this event, and pledging to raise money for its success, you are helping raise invaluable funds to enhance the quality of life for children, teens and adults through sports and fitness programming.
We are dedicated to this underserved population and all proceeds raised from the Run will allow us to build on the monthly programs we currently offer. With your support, we can make a difference and teach people in our community with special needs the life skills and vocational abilities they need to live more productive, meaningful lives.
We wish you all the success possible. Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race… and get all the sponsors you can, so when you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, and all the people with special needs and disabilities in our community that need our help! 4. How can my sponsors submit payment?
Online contributions can be made by credit card on the runner’s personalized page found on our website at. Just make sure to tell your sponsors to select your name from the list of runners. We are a 501c3 organization, all donations are tax deductible!
5. I am concerned that I might not be able to raise the required funds. Will I be able to do it?
Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others. Experience has shown that it is not only possible, but enjoyable, to set and reach your goals. Please refer to the sample letters found on your personal fundraising page center, that explains the programs the Run supports, and you will be surprised to see how quickly friends, family, and co-workers will respond to your request to help this wonderful cause. Just remember to make it personal as well, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! And, as many companies offer charitable donation matching programs, make sure to ask your sponsors to check with their employers, as it will help you meet your goal ever more quickly. 6. Is the Run only for Runners?
No! The Run is designed as a day of fun and fitness for the whole family. In addition to the race, the Run features a free face painting for the kids. Runners enjoy additional benefits that include , , free tee-shirts and other great giveaways.
7. Do You Run Alone or as a Team?
Either! Participants can run alone or create their own team to run a route through a relatively flat course along the tree-lined streets with picturesque mountain views too. 8. I have never run a race. Will I be able to finish a half or full marathon? Absolutely! It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timer runners. Whether you are a novice, signed up for our or a serious athlete running or walking our 5K, we will be here to inspire you every step of the way.
Our hope is to inspire you to achieve ultimate “personal wellness” and, at the same time, participate in a competitive and family friendly athletic event that will allow you to spend meaningful time together with family and friends. 9. Is there a refund/exchange policy?
Yes. If a donation was made accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes or corrections. Race registration fees are not refundable.
10. Is parking available?
There is adequate parking available, at all the nearby schools as well as in and around the park. All of the businesses have been made aware of the run and have been gracious enough to allow our patrons to park in their parking lots. 11. Can I still participate if I can't be in Maricopa to run/walk that day?
Yes, you can sign up as a virtual participant and can do your own 5K in your own area at your leisure. In this way, you can contribute and show your support for this event. Alternatively, if you did not want to walk, you could simply make a contribution. Just indicate virtual participant on the registration site to participate in your location or click sponsor to make a contribution. |
