MY STORY
I do this work against FGM because it is not about me; it is about the innocent girls and the women still suffering from PTSD in post-FGM life.  I am participating in the Walk to End Female Genital Mutilation. Money raised from this event will be used to help our rehabilitation and preventative programs, which are the Wholesome Organic Relief Program, the Survivor Resettlement Program, the Kids Reach Shield Program, and the Just4You Program. Female genital mutilation is the intentional removal of either part or all of the external female genitalia for non-medical reasons.  Many girls die daily as a result of FGM.  85% of maternal and infant mortality in Africa is the result of FGM.  Now, FGM is being practiced here on American soil in many states.  We want it stopped in the world, and most importantly in the United States.

RAISING MONEY FOR...
Funds from this event this year will help the "Lisa C. Bruch Scholarship Fund" for girls in West Africa.  This scholarship fund will benefit girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM), and girls who have experienced FGM.  The fund is named in honor of the late Lisa C. Bruch, former Board Advisor of Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation.
