MY STORY

Please follow me at #AntiFGMGlobal and take a moment to learn about #Walk2EndFGM 2019. I am participating in the Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation 6th Walk to End Female Genital Mutilation which takes place in Washington, DC on October 19, 2019. I have walked in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 in person. This year I am in the virtual walker category which can make as much of a contribution! Please consider joining me with your support! It brings together women and men from all corners of the globe united in the movement against FGM.
Here is your opportunity to lend support to this enormous challenge to eradicate FGM.
Primarily the Washington DC Walk focuses on the U.S.A and what more needs to be done to prevent FGM from being performed. G.W.P.F. also has important international reach. It has managed to federate with activists and their groups around the world with the same aim to #EndFGM. We are supporting those who have been affected and we are reinforcing the laws on the books criminalizing FGM. By working with us and community groups and authorities we raise awareness of the many diverse peoples that are participating in these efforts to rid society of this heinous crime. With us, you become part of this fight. Significantly, #AntiFGMGlobal compliments any and all global efforts to rid the world of FGM. You become a mover.
Together, with your support, we can look to grow and expand the world circle ever-wider, everyday, as this global network of anti-FGM activists is able to further connect, with your assistance, federating international community groups and individuals, both men and women united to end FGM in a global way.
As our guide, we look to the 2012 United Nations Resolution against FGM which states FGM is a crime - a criminal act. I ask that you contribute to the Walk by endorsing and funding the Walk 2019.

Money raised from this event will help support the prevention and rehabilitation programs of Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation. This is organization that I wholly endorse and believe to be the most effective way that I can lend my support. I hope you will join me in doing so. FGM is the intentional removal of either all or part of the female external genitalia for non-medical reasons. You can learn more about FGM by reading several articles I have written on the subject, by googling Diane Walsh and FGM. I have developed many network ties in the USA, Canada, England, Scotland and Ireland and have collated research on hashtags #AntiFGMGlobal and previously #GAFGM, if you interested in learning more about the subject in greater detail.
FGM is still being practiced with impunity and we want it stopped.
You can help do so.  https://wizathon.com/walk2endfgm/79977

RAISING MONEY FOR...
Funds from this event this year will help the "Lisa C. Bruch Scholarship Fund" for girls in West Africa.  This scholarship fund will benefit girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM), and girls who have experienced FGM.  The fund is named in honor of the late Lisa C. Bruch, former Board Advisor of Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation.
