The MNBT5K was started in 2010 by Tammy Greschner in memory of Dave Melde. Dave lost his battle with GBM,
and she honored Dave’s wishes of helping others by raising money for brain tumor research and awareness. 100% of the proceeds from the event go directly to the cause. In 2024, we hit the milestone number of $1Million raised since the inception of the race! Dave would be so proud of Tammy for this achievement, and that the event is still going strong after 15 years.
We have grown from our humble beginnings, and have a team of dedicated volunteers. Most of these volunteers work at Ideal Credit Union, who is our largest sponsor.
