Those of you that have known me, know that I have worked with children of all ages throughout my career. I have found a worthwhile cause that I truly believe will better the lives of woman and children. It is critical in these tumultuous times that we address the pernicious practice of human sex trafficking as best we can. This is my way to try to make a difference.
Did you know that there are an estimated 27 million adults and 13 million children around the world who are victims of human trafficking? According to the U.S. State Department, modern day slavery is one of the greatest human rights challenges of this century, both in the United States and around the world. But did you also know that there are organizations like Durga Tree International, that are raising money and awareness around this global epidemic? Durga Tree works to fundraise for amazing grassroots groups across the globe that are making a difference in the ongoing WAR against human slavery.
I am committed to making sure that Durga Tree International is able to continue to provide funds for these important organizations, especially since there are more human slaves in the world today than ever before in history
Because of this, I’m excited to participate in "Lacing Up for Freedom", a walkathon to be held this May 201 in Ridgewood New Jersey. The contributions made to this organization are a direct donation to change the lives of people around the world.
