2. What are the Walk for Recess Details?
The Playworks Walk for Recess takes place Saturday, March 28th, 2015. Location:
Crump Stadium

There will be fun games and food provided for families and the community.
3. Is there a registrtation fee?
$10 for children ages 5-11; $25 per person ages 12+
4. What does the Walk for Recess support?
Independent studies verify that Playworks dramatically reduces bullying at our partner schools, increases time for teaching, and inspires students to behave better both at recess and in class. Our programming provides as much as 30-45 minutes of daily physical activity at recess and throughout the school day by including and engaging each and every child in healthy play. Currently in Houston, TX, Playworks operates in 18 Title I schools reaching over 16,513 children at our partner schools for the 2014-2015 school year. Playworks is able to function at this level of success because of the support of generous donors. Proceeds from the Playworks 5K Walk for Recess will go to support Houston Area children by providing healthy, inclusive and physical play to Houston schools. Your participation in this special event will truly make a difference.
5. How can my sponsors submit payment? Sponsors to individual participants and event sponsors can donate on this website, or give payments directly to the walkers (cash or check). If mailing in a check, please send to: Playworks Texas 2855 Mangum Rd. Ste. 445, Houston, TX 77092. Please ask your sponsors to write your name on the check. 6. What if I don’t raise enough money? Any amount raised is most appreciated! Even if you've never raised money before, our materials and strategies will make it easy for you to solicit and collect sponsorships from friends, family, colleagues and neighbors. Once you register, we will send you all the info you need to get started. You can also find and use sample letters to send to friends and family members asking them to support your fundraising efforts by logging into your personal fundraising center. Be sure to make your request personal, as you want them to know that they are sponsoring YOU and YOUR efforts! Every walker who raises over $100.00 inclusive of their registraion will receive a Walk t-shirt!

A determination will be made within 24hrs of the event should there be inclement weather. Participants will be notified of any changes via email.
