I am so excited to be walking in Playworks Texas' 5K Walk for Recess. Money raised from this walk will be used toward the support of Houston Area children by providing healthy, inclusive and physical play to Houston schools.
I can personally attest to the benefits of this program since Maddy was a student at a school that had the Playworks program in place. She would tell me daily of all the games her and the other students would play and how inclusive the games were.
Playworks, in a nutshell, seeks to show our kids the importance of including everyone in their playtime which in turn minimizes any opportunity for bullying and helps our teachers in their classrooms when it comes to instructional time.
